Reading for Wed. Dec. 1st

Please read Strayer 541-555. We will be discussing the Industrial Revolution in Latin America. In addition, please read the sample DBQ essay handed out during last class and bring a list of the four things you were asked to identify (thesis, POV, grouping & faults). You should also be working on preparing Ids for chapter 18 to turn in Friday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to let everyone know what a great job I think you're doing in World History Intensive. I know the first quarter was very challenging, and you have all done a great job adjusting to very high expectations. I'm most impressed with your drive and willingness to learn. No homework over the break. Relax and spend some time with family. We'll hit the ground running on November 29th and work real hard until Christmas.

Homework and reading for Thursday, Nov. 18th

Please read Strayer, 534-541 and complete the DBQ essay. Remember that we're trying to simulate test conditions, so please spend exactly one hour writing; no more, no less. On Thursday we will workshop these essays in class. It would be helpful if they all looked the same. Please type, double-space, use Times New Roman 12 pt font, one-inch margins.

Reading for Tuesday, Nov. 16th

Please read Strayer, 527-533. There is no Reilly reading, but we will be working with primary source documents in class on Tuesday in a document based question exercise. See you then...

Reading for Friday, Nov. 12

Please read Strayer, 513-524. We will not have a Reilly reading for Friday, but will discuss the readings on the French, Haitian and Venezuelan Revolutions that we did not get to today. No homework, but catch your breath, we'll hit the ground running next week as we begin the next writing assignment, and also begin some AP exam practice.
